HUNTSVILLE, Alabama-- Huntsville police are investigating a shooting at a car wash on Pulaski Pike near Winchester Road beside Floyd's?Barbecue.
The shooting occurred just before 2 p.m. A police?lieutenant?on the scene said a 25-year-old female was shot once in the lower back/buttocks area. She was taken to the hospital by HEMSI ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, he said.
Police believe there were three offenders, all of which the victim was talking to at the time she was shot. Police said the victim was in the offenders' vehicle, but her vehicle was also on scene.
The suspects fled in a black or dark-colored SUV, according to police.?
Police said it was determined that the victim was participating in a drug deal at the time she was shot.?
According to an incident report, one of the offenders pulled out a gun and demanded money from the woman. The woman was shot after she refused and attempted to escape from the vehicle.
No suspects had been arrested or identified by name as of this afternoon.
