Storm Cancels Hartford Apple Festival Parade

A fast moving storm cell that hit the Hartford Apple Festival grounds just minutes before the parade caused officials to cancel the event.

Festival goers crowded under whatever shelter they could find as temperature plummeted and wind blew, leaving parade participants shivering on their soggy floats in the parade lineup. Officials worked to quickly?clear the traffic pile-up once the decision was made to cancel the parade.

No damage was done to the festival grounds, but rides were shut down during the storm.

The festival continues through Sunday afternoon.
